Archaggelos village is located to the south of the city of Rhodes Town and is the third largest town on Rhodes island.
Archangelos is a village that remains faithful to the traditional village traditions of Rhodes. Archangelos has narrow side streets and even now the local bread is baked in old wood-fired ovens. Archangelos also has a tradition of carpet weaving and pottery making which dates back many hundreds of years.


In the center of Arhangelos is the church of the Archangel Michaelwhich is definitely worth a visit.
Traditional houses surround the church. These houses are painted with vivid colors and decorated their arches with caramics from Lindos.
Also worth visiting is the Castle of Saint John, which is about 15- 20 minutes walk for the the village and is situated on a hill on the spopes of the nearby Mount Stongylos. Wild black horses live on the surrounding hills which you may also get to see.
Three kilometres away from the village on the road to Beach Stegna, lies the cave of Koumellos what is very famous for its extraordinary stalactites.
