The Municipal Organization of Culture and Sport Rhodes ( D.O.P.A.R.) and the Committee of Rhodes Dodecanese organize on Bee Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 21.00, in the courtyard of the Grand Master's Palace, a piano recital by the famous English Philip Gammon, who will present works of Chopin, Brahms, Liszt, Tchaikovsky and Mikhnovsky.
At the entrance there will be a piggy bank to support the Dodecanese Bee !!!
Philip Gammon was born on May 17, 1940 in Chippenham, Wilts. He is a solo pianist with a great career, not only in England but all over the world. He was a piano professor at the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music, pianist for the King's ballets of Covent Garden, solo pianist and conductor of the London Contemporary Dance.
He conducted concerts almost all over the world ( Brazil, former Soviet Union, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, Argentina, Israel, Athens)
In 2011 he was awarded a gold medal of the Royal British Ballet, in recognition of his tender, an award given for the first time for music by the Royal Ballet.
Almost Greek, with his Greek soprano wife Floretta Volovini, Philip Gammon often visited Rhodes, which he loves and for that reason and with great pleasure he offers a musical evening with the intention to stand by the Greeks in this difficult times, enhancing the work of the Dodecanese Melissa, who is to award scholarships to Dodecanese students.
